been working on hair since 5:00pm.  1.) I start with the side of the pencil and lay a base shading down on the strand.  2.) I blend with tissues.  3.) Then I start with the strokes with my 4h pencil or HB.  4.) I blend with tissues.  5.) I layer with my 2b pencil and blend with tissues again.  6.) I make highlights with a small eraser.  7.) Then I shade with a 4b pencil.  8.) I blend with tissues.  9.) I continue to shade the shadows with a 6b pencil and blend with tissues and blending stumps.  Finished the left side of the hair at 7:35pm.

Drew another Taylor swift pencil portrait tonight. took 5 hours. I'm still drawing, but will get back to posting on here!

Putting in the base color.  Second base color.  Third base color.  Working on shading.  Finished =).

HOW TO DRAW VALUE SCALES FOR PENCILS HB-9B.  1.) The first pencil I will start with is my HB pencil using circles.  Creating the scale:  2.) Grab the ruler and then measure out a line that is 8 inches.  3.) Measure an inch from the top line for the bottom line.  4.) So now I should have two lines that measure 1 inch apart.  5.) Now, measure an inch eight times to create the boxes across.  6.) Do the same for the bottom line.  7.) Start connecting the lines to create the 8 boxes.  8.) Label your boxes starting from the left 8-1-being number 1 is the lightest value (your paper.).  SHADING:  1.) I am starting with my HB pencil and using a pressure #2 and shading from the top left corner of the left box. 3.) Since I layered, I am not even going to use tissues or a blending stump to blend. =).  I do the same thing with my 2b pencil (we will do 3b after 2b pencil.) i create the same boxes as I did with my HB pencil

(Almost 200 posts yay!) Also, this week I may be doing a shading series with graphite. There are tons of ways to shade with graphite. But I think this week I may be focused on: 1.) Creating circles with your pencil to shade and blend graphite. I am also going to be focused on layering your graphite pencils. I'm not sure if I am going to do video formats for these or just do photos. Also, I may focused on creating value scales with just circles. So I am grabbing my pencils to get started! =). The pencils I will be using: H pencil, F pencil, B pencil, HB, 3B, 4B, 5B, 6B, and 8B and possibly 9b.I will be creating the value scale for HB, B, 3b, 4B, 5B, 6B, 8B, and 9B.   =) -Anna- PS: As for the paper goes, I will be using Bristol paper. =) (Edited to add this).

Hey guys! I have been playing around in photoshop and watched many tutorials on how to blend. Though, I came up with my own settings for the paint mixer brush tool and thought I would share. =).  The settings:  1.) Wet: 55% 2.) Load: 80%.  3.) Mix: 70%.  4.) Flow: 70%.  Then I go to the brush panel and have these settings as well:  1.) Shape Dynamics: pen pressure. (the size jitter.).  1a.) Angle Jitter: pen pressure.  2.) Scattering: Pen pressure.  2a.) Count jitter: pressure.  3.) Transfer  3a.) Flow jitter: Pen pressure.  3b.) Wetness jitter: pen pressure.  build up box checked.  Smoothing box checked.  I hope this helps. but these are just notes for me to look back on.

How I draw a Copic marker illustration using a face! (Someone somewhat from imagination. I may use references.) 1.) I start the sketch with my H pencil.  2.) I sketch the eyebrows with my H pencil.  3.) Then I sketch the nose.  4.) After that I sketch the mouth.  5.) And then finally the face shape.  6.) I sketch the hairstyle I want for the portrait.  I also use my Pental Pocket Brush Pen for inking. Note: I am using my drawing table as an angle support.  COPIC MARKERS:  E00, E000, R20, B18, FBG2, E18, RV69,  INKING:  1.) I slowly ink the left eye.  2.) Then I ink the left eye brow.  3.) Then I ink the right eyebrow and the right eye.  4.) Next, I ink the nose very carefully.  5.) After that I start inking the hair.  6.) Then I ink the mouth.  COLORING (or well shading..).  1.) I am using E000 for highlights.  2.) I start shading with my E00 marker.  3.) I start shading shadows with E15. (I would use anothe
